Welcome to Piken

Here is my first batch of Kayla concepts. She's the main characters dream girl. On the night before he decides to go and seek the black sun with no instinct he gets drunk at her bar and tries to get her to join him. He's lived in the same city as her his whole life. He heads to the spot he told her the next morning hungover and alone, never expecting her to actually show up. She does. Now he knows he's fucked, he can't see the black sun. He's leading her on a journey based on a lie, a lie that will never let her go home. There's no going back. As the story progresses we learn that she actually has had the instinct for a little under a year, she can see the black sun. She has been doing everything in her power to not follow her instinct, she holds on to her last bit of choice and free will. She knows Fens full of shit, he was the tip of the ice burg for her to shut up and go.

Here are some Kamen concepts, I'm trying to figure out how he looks to humans. To every species he tries to emulate a form that they can understand and relate to. The outcome is almost like a stitched together being made up of parts that Kamen understands seperately but he doesn't really understand the whole. Kind of like a pieced together human based on images of what an alien creature thinks they are, he understands them on a molecular and systemic level. He never quite gets it right. Kamen has to appear in the same manner to every species on the planet, there's always something off in his attempts.

Sunday send week one. This is just an experiment to get the idea of the black sun down on 'paper'. I don't know who this is, could be Fens friend as he looks upon it for the first time and realizes his fate or could be Fen looking into the distance not able to see what's right in front of him.

Still gotta figure out how im gonna do the roots and vines coming together and building him but whatever, hopefully that and some blood'll make it seem less gay

Fear

Since I'm trying to loosen up I figured that I might as well try to break out of my comfort subjects and try to bring out my inner demon. Considering that I don't think horror movies are scary for shit I think its about time that I explore dark things that could scare others. Demons, spirits, evil itself. If I dig deep enough into this subject I feel that eventually I'll be able to create a villain someday that actually has a dark presence. Villains are always seem to be 'bad guys', one who is doing something against what our hero is after and along the way shows his lack of emotion through 'evil deeds'. For my story, I want the villain to be sick, almost scary. I want him to push boundaries of morality to the point that it makes the audience uncomfortable. This I feel will push the need to stop a said villain to new heights. He's not just burning your hometown anymore, he's pushing mortality to its breaking point.
